About Adnan Rashid

Ustadh Adnan Rashid is a historian from London. He specialises in Islamic history. Adnan Rashid has also attained a number of ijazas in hadith sciences from reputable hadith authorities. He attained his BA with honors in history from Birkbeck College, University of London. He completed his Masters in history from the School of Oriental and African Studies, London. He is a peer reviewed scholar and his research has been published by The Royal Asiatic Society (Cambridge University). The Ustadh has taught seerah, tafseer, hadith and history to hundreds of students through social media, tv and other platforms.
 
The Ustadh takes a keen interest in comparative religion and has had high profile interfaith dialogues internationally.
 
Ustadh Adnan Rashid is an Islamic numismatist (coins specialist) as well as a bibliophile (book collector). He has inherited a vast library of historical manuscripts from his ancestors and is himself a deeply interested researcher into Islamic heritage. He has been collecting historical manuscripts from the Indian subcontinent on hadith, tafseer, history and poetry. He has authored a short book (Convivencia: the Making of the Muslim Civilisation) on the history of Islam and is currently working on the expanded second edition.
 
The Ustadh has lectured/debated internationally at renowned universities such as the American University of Beirut (Lebanon); the University of Warsaw (Poland); the Trinity College Dublin (Ireland); the NUST University (Pakistan) etc. In Britain, the Ustadh has lectured for Student Islamic Societies in most major universities.
 
Ustadh Adnan Rashid loves museums and travelling. He has visited some the most wonderful historical sites in the world on his travels. Some of the sites he has visited are Nabatean remains in Petra (Jordan), Ottoman monuments in Turkey, Mughal architecture in Pakistan, Greek/Roman remains in Greece.
 
He currently resides in London with his family.

Disclaimer: Due to the limited number of tickets available for the Alhambra Palaces, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to enter the Alhambra. To increase your chances of obtaining a ticket, we strongly recommend booking your spot on the tour early.

Please note that we are unable to control the availability of tickets for the Alhambra Palaces. In the 20 years we have been conducting these tours, there have only been three instances where we were unable to secure tickets for the Alhambra. However, we will make every effort to obtain tickets for you and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause

Please note that we will do our best to be flexible with pick-up and drop-off times and will accommodate reasonable delays of flights. However, for any long delays or later flights, you will need to either make your own arrangements to join the tour or we can arrange for private transfers at an additional cost.

Day 1Arrive Malaga airport - Seville

  • Meet & greet at Malaga airport
  • Transfer to Seville (approx. 2 hour drive)
  • Check in to hotel
  • Walking tour of Seville
  • Free time to explore, shop, and have dinner
  • Overnight in Seville 

Day 2Seville - Cordoba

  • Buffet breakfast at hotel
  • Check out and guided visit of the Royal palaces and gardens in Seville’s historic center
  • See the famous Giralda Tower
  • Lunch break
  • Visit Plaza Espana in Seville
  • Transfer to Cordoba
  • Stop at Madinat al Zahra and visit the palace ruins and museum
  • Check in to hotel
  • Optional evening tour of Cordoba
  • Overnight in Cordoba

Day 3Cordoba - Granada

  • Buffet breakfast at hotel
  • Visit Callahora tower museum
  • Stroll across the Roman bridge to the Great Mosque of Cordoba

  • Transfer to Granada

  • Overnight in Granada

Day 4Granada

  • Depart for the Alhambra for a guided tour of its gardens and palaces

  • Lunch and free time to explore Granada and do some shopping

Day 5Granada - Alpujarra - Granada

  • Visit the Granada mosque
  • Head south to the Alpujarra mountains
  • Visit the old Muslim bridge
  • See Lanjarron castle
  • Dinner at Baraka, a restaurant run by a Spanish Muslim revert
  • Return to Granada

Day 6Granada - Malaga

  • Buffet breakfast at hotel
  • Transfer to Malaga airport (approx. 1.5 hour drive)
  • Farewells and end of Andalucian experience
